Key points
- Long-range radio link for RS485 Modbus devices
- No long data cable between buildings or roofs
- Works with inverters, meters and RS485 sensors
- Works with LoRa Gateway, Pulse Wireless and wireless kits
Overview
Long RS485 cables across a plant cost money, take time to lay, and can pick up noise or get damaged. The LoRa Wireless Node removes them. It connects to a device on RS485 and passes its data by long-range radio.
Place a node at each inverter, meter or sensor that is far away. The nodes talk to a LoRa Gateway, a Pulse Wireless or a wireless kit controller. That device collects all the data and sends it on to the Solar Portal, or uses it for zero export and DG-sync control.
Range depends on the site: distance, walls, metal sheds and antenna position all matter. Tell us your layout and we will advise how many nodes you need and where to put them.
