The problem

How it works

1. A smart meter is fitted at the grid incomer, the DG, the solar feeder or a large load.
2. The meter connects by RS485 cable, or by radio for far-away panels.
3. A monitoring device or controller reads the meter.
4. Power and energy readings show on the Solar Portal.
5. The same meter can also feed zero-export or DG-sync control.
